The Telemetry/Medical/Surgical Department at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center provides acute inpatient hospital services for patients. Telemetry/medical/surgical beds have the capability of monitoring patients with cardiac issues. The Telemetry/Medical/Surgical Department provides services to patients who need nursing care while they are being treated for their illness. The majority of rooms at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center are single occupancy. The hospital even provides room service for patients while they are in the facility. The staff is comprised of registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, unit assistants and telemetry monitor technicians. This dynamic group of professionals is available to serve patient needs 24 hours a day. Patients and families are part of our care team and are encouraged to participate in developing the plan of care as well as patient rounding and bedside shift report. We believe that clear, open communication delivers the best outcomes for our patients.
The Registered Nurse provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. They provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times and other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP (or obtained within 90 days of employment) in required specialty. ACLS required for all departments except Nursery.
Current American Heart Association BLS required at time of hire.
New RN Graduates must complete ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP within 90 days per required specialty.
Current active Florida nursing license.
Non Violent Crisis Intervention Training (or obtained within 90 days of employment) in required specialty.
Prefer one year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.
