This position reports to Monday-Friday 8:00 - 4:00 pm.
Production control analysts serve the role as the primary point of contact for manufacturing for all material related needs. They will be responsible for ensuring material is available to manufacturing in support of the production schedule from the warehouse, they will maintain process specs and recipes, release and manage production orders, and be responsible for review of MFG issuance of material to production orders, and help in reconciliation of floor stock inventory.
Chosen candidate will utilize MRP and the production schedule to order raw materials and parts from the warehouse to maintain production quotas while analyzing part balances to curb line stoppage. Employee will be held responsible for informing materials manager and production manager of any anticipated problems, while expediting materials from the warehouse or QC. Job will include facilitating cycle counts with inventory coordinator and special counts resulting from a data entry error or production problems. Analyst must work closely with others to solve any and all inventory discrepancies, correct minimum and maximum stock levels them in the system and implement procedures to prevent future problems. By utilizing safety stock controls employee must maintain and solve customer delivery problems due to parts shortages. In general, this role may be responsible for the earlier stages of the production process, or a facility that has limited volume, or mix of products produced.
10% Under the direction of Materials Manager, the candidate will be responsible for the following:
Plan and coordinate Material delivery from warehouse to production in support of production schedule
Review production schedule, conduct analysis of available material in manufacturing and request material to support production plan
Support all non-routine material requests for manufacturing, coordinating with the production planner and warehouse personnel.
Plan via Bin transfer form creation of kits. Maintain and oversee control of kits in manufacturing.
Maintain kit lists.
10% Management and accuracy of floor stock inventory:
Plan and monitor the supply of all floor stock in support of the production schedule
Developing and implementing a Cycle counting Process
Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories as required per policy and procedure
Conducting & reconciling a cycle counts
Conduct variance analysis for any discrepancies
Report results of inventory analysis
Partner with manufacturing to improve inventory turns and accuracy
50% Create and manage all production orders:
Coordinate with production scheduler to create jobs.
Manage production orders:
Create and maintain all pick/kit lists
Coordinate activities with supply chain.
Ensure all material consumption transactions are implemented within 24 hours.
Record all UPB and DS output quantity against the job.
Investigate BOM exceptions required of manufacturing to ensure ERP BOM are accurate
Close all production orders
10% Conduct job variance analysis:
Evaluate all production orders after closure to ensure all material was properly accounted for
Conduct variance analysis on any job adds or substitutions as well as quantity variances for raw material
5% Create and maintain all production recipe and process specifications in ERP:
Actively manage the 5071 process for their materials
Conduct periodic comparative analysis of batch records and form preps to ERP recipes and process specs.
Coordinate implementation of all change controls associated with BOM changes
15% Partner with manufacturing:
Serve as primary point of contact for manufacturing supervisors for all material issues
Serve as conduit between production and planners and buyers on all day to day tactical material issues.
Partner with material planner to expedite material as required through receiving, QC, warehouse logistics to support the production schedule.
Drive resolution to materials issues which includes working with Purchasing, QA, QC and Production personnel to evaluate material shortages, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate the replenishment to the appropriate inventory levels
Develop a strong interface between Materials and Process Development, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Departments to provide materials support in development efforts
Assist finance/accounting in reconciling any manufacturing related issues in regards to job closures, incorrect job-related financials, as required.
With minimum supervision demonstrate the ability to work as a team member in a high activity environment.
Understand/comprehend importance of linkages between Receiving, Production Control and Inventory Control.
BA/BS degree in business, engineering or other related field preferred/ not required
Experience with managing multiple commodity areas and tasks effectively in a fast-paced
ERP experience in Materials/Procurement modules
Materials Planning experience
Familiarity with a cGMP environment is required
